Most dominant device/console for gaming?
The device can be anything from an Iphone to a supercomputer in terms of size. What I like to know is what is more dominant in terms of gaming, but you don't have to stick to gaming.
Which is more dominant out of them all here is a list add if you want.
Laptop, desktop, iphone, wii, atari, sega genesis, nintendo, super nintendo, nintendo 64..., Xbox, playstation to modded playstation 3, nintendo ds or dsi.
My example
I think the desktop is the best out there for gaming, because you can still play Call of duty modern warfare for pc and many other new games. Plus, you can play old games from other consoles like supermario, dragonwarrior and such. Also, xbox and playstation 3 doesn't have a mouse or a keyboard so there is a lot of limitation. You can also agree that desktops depending on the ones you buy have more processing speed than any other console or laptop.

Actually... While there aren't many PS3 games with keyboard/mouse support, you can easily use keyboard/mouse with the system. (XMB and a few applications. with UT3 having full keyboard/mouse support)

desktop is most versatile i think
laptop is portable but costs much more than a desktop of same spec
i think you need to make a list of what you want the thing to do, what its going to be used for and what your budget is.

I think the web is the most dominant platform. There are probably more people playing games on the web--either through portals like Big Fish Games or through Facebook--than there are playing so-called "hardcore" -oriented games on consoles. 11 million people are playing FarmVille (a Facebook game) alone.

I agree with the web, it's accessable with most hardware and there's no shortage of people churning out flash games. FarmVille is pure evil though.

Well yeah, there are more people playing FarmVille then Maplestory now, and MapleStory has like what, 45 million players all over the world.

The web isn't a platform in itself IMO.
I'm going to have to go with a PC. There's a lot that PS3s modded to run unix/linux can do but the modern PC is (should be) more powerful and more people have them.

Have you ever played SF III? You'd think twice about calling IV 'very good'

Playstation 3 and PC. (More PS3 since my PC isn't great... but the classic PC games will live forever... [Starcraft, Diablo 1 & 2, Baldur's Gate, etc.])

I have to agree that the web is dominant. However, I think it's because a lot of people find the game a bit easy. And it is. There's hardly any competition to be the best, and it relies on your friends to get ahead (or a very deep wallet), and it can be played on just about any computer--Mac, Linux, and Windows--and just about any browser.
However, I have more games for the PC than I do for any of my other console games. Let's face it: I can store a lot of games digitally and play them quite nicely, too. PC offers me more choices when it comes to games. I just don't agree with some of the DRMs (Bioshock, anyone).
